Roleplaying (often abbreviated as RP) is a social activity in which a players adopts and acts out the role of their character within the world of Alharth. A player who partakes in roleplay is called a roleplayer.
Lore
For better immersion, a player should be familiar with the lore of Alharth. The Register of Lore is useful in this regard. This is not to be confused with the player skill, Lore.

Notepad
Within your Quest Log (L key, by default) there is a tab called 'Notepad'. This is a freely editable text field that is intended for taking notes.
Use this while questing or for keeping short roleplay notes.
Roleplay Status
Within your Social panel (O key, by default) you can see people who are online in nearby areas. At the bottom you can set a custom user status.
Feel free to set this to 'Roleplaying' or 'Looking for Roleplay' or whatever you'd like, so that other roleplayers may find you on the Social panel.
Roleplay Commands
There are many chat commands that are useful in roleplay. For a full list of emotes and commands, see User Interface.
