;Syntax
:Copy the code <code><nowiki>{{SPW|name={{safesubst:#titleparts:{{safesubst:PAGENAME}}|-1BASEPAGENAME}}}}</nowiki></code> to the top of the "/doc" page (this code is part of the [[Template:Documentation/preload|template documentation preload]]). If that is all that it gets, it will display {{SPW|name=SPW}}
:Check the link to see whether there is a matching template. Next step is to add the appropriate switch before the <code><nowiki>|name=...</nowiki></code>, one of <code><nowiki>|is on</nowiki></code>, <code><nowiki>|is not on</nowiki></code>, or <code><nowiki>|is newer</nowiki></code>.
