Overview
Mentalism is a skill that makes use of Psychic energy to both attack and support. Advanced Mentalists can gain critical-hit chances to their attacks by studying Phrenology.

In-Game Description
The power of mind over matter: psychic powers! This combat skill focuses on recovery and restoration, but also has multiple damaging abilities.

Training
* Learned from Echur in Serbule Keep after completing a few errands.
* Mu and Yoy in Myconian Cave teaches further skills with sufficient favor.
* Rohina trains Mentalism level 51-60 for 20,000 councils Needs confirmation (Friends favor) and level 61-70 for 100,000 councils (? Favor Level <= Best Friends)
* Raina unlocks 71-80 for 400,000 councils<sup>Needs confirmation</sup> plus 3 Royal Jelly (? Favor Level).
* Levels 81-90 are unlocked by Reinath deep beneath Povus.

Connected Skills
Sub-Skills:
* Fairy Magic

Related Skills:
: Mentalism is a very diverse skill with many good combos depending on the route you take. Generally you will want to focus on Electric or psychic damage mods depending on which other skill you choose. Mentalism is also a great choice for healing. I will list some good damage combos below:
:
* Psychology Amazing direct psychic damage potential. Good Crowd Control. No Form or weapon requirements. BIG CRITS. Very, Very good as long as your foes don't resist Psychic damage.
* Vampirism The only other real option for a full psychic damage build. Has access to psychic Vulnerability and phrenology crit chance with the right mods too. Also scales indirect psychic damage with the right mods.
* Hammer Huge lightning damage but high mana costs. Can buff the whole team with extra lightning damage.
* Necromancy This combo makes great lightning damage dealer. Its even better if you have Fairy Magic. The other the main synergy is indirect psychic damage which isn't as potent in most situations.
* Warden This makes a for a good lightning damage focused build with potential for a mixed lightning/fire build is you have Fairy Magic.

Synergy Levels:
Bonus Synergy Levels to Mentalism can be obtained from the following skills and levels:
:;Psychology
:: Level 34, 41
:;Meditation
:: Level 40
:;Holistic Wellness
:: Level 48
:;Phrenology
:: Level 50, and level 50 in each subskill
:;Gender Studies
:: Level 35
Excessive consumption of Fairy Dust by a non-fairy may transform the eater into a butterfly for a five minute period. Upon transformation they will receive the message: "You've turned into a bug! Fortunately this will wear off...Suffer all fae racial penalties +10 Nature & Psychology Base Damage".

Reports vary on exactly how much Fairy Dust is required to transform, with numbers ranging between 1 and 20. It is likely that each individual consumption of Fairy Dust triggers a transformation chance roll, with each additional consumed Fairy Dust increasing in likelihood based on the amount consumed since last transformation. Once transformed, the Butterfly Transformation curse be applied for five minutes.

Individuals interested in becoming a permanent Butterfly need to repeatedly inflict themselves with the curse. Luckily, it seems that the amount of Fairy Dust required decreases after each successful transformation if the Fairy Dust is consumed shortly after the latest transformation fades. Users have reported between 1 and 11 Fairy Dust may be required for their second transformation, and between 1 and 5 for successive inflictions of the curse. After multiple repeated temporary transformations, an individual may be cursed with the permanent version of Butterfly Transformation
* Sanja in Kur teaches the wolf mount-form to Lycan players who are at least level 30 in Lycanthropy. Hunting Speed (1 through 3) are now Wolf mount abilities (they used to be sidebar abilities), and are activated in the usual way at the Altar of Norala each month at Full Moon.

* Pasha in Ilmari unlocks Riding levels 61-70.

* Backfat in the Fae Realm unlocks Riding levels 71-80.

Note: At present, all beast form mounts use and benefit from the same riding tack as is used for horses (shoes, reins, saddles, and saddlebags), and the mount equipment UI shows a horse even for the mount forms where one is not actually used.

Note: If you have purchased and activated a pledge package that includes a mount and riding skill, you can redeem that for a single character on your account. You will receive one free horse, free riding skill at level 40, and a special level 40 50-slot "Easy Deluxe" saddlebag. Horse breeding pairs will be released at a future date. Current horses are considered to be an initial prototype version (Gen 1) for game testing purposes.
Mechanics
Learning Riding
When Riding is first obtained, the ability Lope is automatically learned. A horse icon will also appear in the right-side menu between the social window and settings. This icon grants access to the Mount Window. Hot-keys can also be assigned to mount, unmount, and open saddlebag storage.

Acquiring Riding Experience
Experience in the Riding skill is earned by riding near enemies then successfully escaping from them without being forcibly removed from a mount. Increasing Riding level improves health and armor while in mount-form.
* The map of each zone where Riding is possible is divided into an invisible grid of squares. This grid is not visible in-game.
* When experience points are first earned in a square of the grid, that square is added to an internal list of completed squares.
* The Riding system only keeps track of a certain number of grid squares. Once it reaches its limit, the earliest entry on the list is dropped and experience can be earned there again.
* At Riding Level 30, player-crafted reins can be equipped with an enchantment that indicates whether a grid square has been completed or not. If the square has already rewarded experience, a small check appears.
* Some adventurers will ride directly past an enemy in an attempt to earn experience, while others prefer to pass in a wide arc. Both methods can be used successfully, but ultimately all that is important is that a mount gains some anxiety from the encounter.
Mount Window
The Mount Window provides statistics for an active horse or for a beast-form players mount form, a button to mount or dismount, and slots to equip horse tack. (Beast forms at present use standard horse tack to improve their Riding stats.) It should be noted that mount equipment is tied to equipment loadouts, therefore you will need to equip your mount (or mount form) with your desired tack and save it for each loadout.
Horse Stats
Animal Handlers spend a ton of time with their pets, raising and training them. Ancillary skills like Animal Husbandry let them breed pets to get the best genes for fighting (and best colors and appearances!). Animal Handlers have a lot of versatility because they can summon different pets for different problems, but they have to spend a lot of time out of combat raising these pets. (Hopefully this is a fun activity for them, though! It’s aimed at people who think raising and breeding virtual animals sounds fun.)
Overview
Animal Handling is a combat skill that many wanderers of Alharth like to learn. The skill focuses on taming and training various animals to fight alongside you.
In-Game Description
The art of taming animals and teaching them to fight alongside you.
Training
<!-- A list of methods to learn and level the skill -->
* Gisli, a Dwarf living in Serbule Keep, will teach the art of Animal Handling for 2000 Councils. Unlike many denizens of Alharth, you don't need to be his friend, he seems willing to teach the skill to anyone who can pay. He will also unlock skill levels 51-60, and 61-70.
* Crelpin in the Fae Realm will unlock levels 71-80.
* Levels 81-90 are unlocked by Emersil the Ever-Gloating deep beneath Povus.

Sub-Skills:
* Animal Husbandry

Secondary Skills:
* Charm Rat - While not a skill, Adventurers may wish to learn the art of 'Rat Charming. While you can learn to Tame Rats from Gisli, the method to Charm Rats must be obtained elsewhere. This relatively rare technique is rumored to have been taught at a secret Council Academy once operating on Anagoge Island. Charmed Rats are still wild animals, not pets. Charmed Rats will follow you around, and can't be revived once defeated in battle.
Animal Taming
Before Animal Handlers can call a wild animal their pet, it must first be Tamed. Shrines can be found across Alharth dedicated to specific types of animals. These shrines hold secrets related to Taming their associated animals, and may grant their knowledge to anyone who solves their sacrificial riddles. You can only tame pets at your own Animal Handling skill level or up to five levels higher. For example, Grimalkin are level 55, so you need a minimum of 50 levels of Animal Handling to tame one.

To Tame a wild animal, the animal's associated Taming Ability must be used. Adventurers wishing to Tame a cat must complete a twenty second cast of their Tame Cat ability, while focusing on a specific wild Feline. If the Adventurer is able to survive the cat for twenty seconds, the cat will accept the Adventurer as its master.
Raising Skill Levels
To level Animal Handling, an Adventurer must actively use pet abilities while fighting, just like every other skill.

Stables
You can have as many pets as you have stable slots. You can buy more stable slots from Stable Masters.

<dpl>
category = Stablemaster
table = class="sortable wikitable", NPC Name, Location
</dpl>

Stable Masters can help you to rename your pets, level up your pets, release unwanted pets, and most importantly, revive them if they fall in battle (for a small fee, of course).

The fee for extra stable slots increases with each slot.
Summoning Pets
As you level up in Animal Handling you'll gain access to abilities that allow you to summon your pets based on what stable slot they are in. You may only summon a single pet tamed from Animal Handling at a time, but you may summon your Animal Handling pets alongside pets from other skills like Necromancy or Battle Chemistry.
Anchor Runes
Potential Prodigies versed in Animal Handling may have learned the Unnatural Wrath abilities. From Gisli in Serbule Keep These abilities require an Anchor Rune to be used.

Shadowy deer shaped Constructs such as the Misery Yak are reportedly sources of this item.
Healing Pets
While deceased pets can be revived at a Stable, adept Animal Handlers may attempt to resuscitate their pets using Good First Aid Kits.
:* Note that pet healing skills mean overall health/armor healing, not each. Example: if your pet is missing 5 health and 20 armor, and you use Feed Pet for +15 healing, the pet will recover 5 health and 10 armor.
Pet Combat & Tricks
Every Tamed animal has two types of special attacks, a Sic 'Em Attack and a Special Trick. Every animal has a different set of attacks.

: Sic 'Em is an ability Animal Handlers will learn at levels 9, 19, 29, 39, and 49. This ability commands your pet to perform its Sic 'Em Attack.
: Clever Trick is an ability Animal Handlers will learn at levels 3, 25, and 44. This ability commands your pet to perform its Special Trick.

Pet Level & Bond Level
As you fight alongside your pet, its Bond Level increases. A new pet will begin with a Bond Level of 0, or a pet you receive from another player (not yet available in-game). For each Bond Level, pets' base damage increases by 1 or 2, max health increases by 4, and max armor increases by 1.

Enthusiasm
Pet Enthusiasm is boosted by its owner's equipped items. Enthusiasm determines the chance for pets to critically hit enemies. Higher Enthusiasm is required to critically hit higher level monsters. If a pet performs a critical hit, the pet's direct damage is increased by 25% (for cats), 40% (for bears and bees), or 50% (for rats).

Combat XP Boost %
Damage Boost & Damage Multiplier
Happiness
Happiness determines how much experience a pet earns. If it dies, Happiness goes down. The rate a pet recovers Happiness is based on Enthusiasm.
{{Quote|source=Gisli|
A pet's Happiness determines how much XP it earns when it helps you defeat enemies. A higher Happiness means it earns more XP! But if a pet dies, its Happiness is reduced by half
Tamable Animals
Level Requirements
Each type of tamable animal has a minimum Animal Handling level reqired to tame it. This requirement can often be found on the wiki, on the pages of the individual animals.

Rats
Rats are generally the first animal Animal Handlers will learn to Charm and Tame. Higher level rats may provide a Poison Vulnerability Debuff, and some species of Rats are reported to exhibit high Evasion & Crit.
Mr. Squeaky is not tamable through Animal Handling, as he is a highly-intelligent foe. Only animals unaware of their own sentience can be tamed!
We are a laid back guild involved in a lot of activities including dungeon runs, gardening and running events. Anyone is welcome to join our discord, whether you're interested in joining the guild or just stopping by to chat.
Backstory
The guild was first created when Sims, Andrij, Daimes, SassySusie, and a few others came together and decided we wanted to create something new, a place where players could come to make friends, run dungeons, and get advice from veteran players.
The Teleportation Machine is a device used to facilitate long-distance teleportation by Council members, controlled through enchanted obelisks and powered through crystalline catalysts. A single operable Teleportation Machine can be found in the Windy View Cave, although a dilapidated setup is still present on Anagoge Island. The Teleportation Machine only connects to areas within Council-Controlled Alharth, or areas with Council-built Teleportation pads. The machine can not connect to external locations (Fae Realm) and may or may not reach older Crone designed pads.

Anagoge Island Teleportation Machine
Four obelisks remain on Anagoge, remnants of a Teleportation Machine used to send students from Stronmar Academy. Although the machine is broken, Elmetaph is able to use the obelisks to remote-bind others to distance locations.

Windy View Cave Teleportation Machine
A fully operational Teleportation Machine is found in the Windy View Cave. A standard Teleportation pad can be found nearby.
:To operate this machine, enter a four-digit coordinate code in a key-pad and submit 2 Aquamarine gems as a catalyst. Only adventurers with Teleportation Level 25 or higher can use the machine.
}}
