Mastery Sparks

Mastery Sparks are a gear upgrade system which allows the addition of extra stats to an item.

Acquiring Sparks

Mastery Sparks drop from level 70+ enemies only. Different set enemy types drop specific sparks which can be targeted for farming. Some activities will also reward random sparks.

The Statehelm Daily Ratkin Chest always drops a few random sparks.

Bosses and Secret chests can drop random sparks.

Other spark locations by type:

  • Universal Spark (Any Gear): Statehelm Crypt, Seaworm (Statehelm)
  • Jewelry: Statehelm Crypt (Undead?)
  • Metal Armor: Demons (Demonic Swarmer, Demon Soldier), Elves
  • Staff: Plants, Canines
  • Battle Chemistry (Beaker/Flask): Vidaria Snakes, Infected Swarm
  • Offhand: General Pask (Potentially Raskshasa, but may just be a random drop)
  • Blades: Fae Panther (Feline?)
  • Cloth/Leather Hat: Fae Bear
  • Archery (Bow/Crossbow): Dread Pixie, Treant
  • Cloth Armor: Statehelm Sewer Boss
  • Orbs: Sadness Gazelle, Hexapus
  • Leather Armor: Aktaari
  • Clubs: Gricklings
  • Instruments: Tentakiller
  • Cloth Gloves: Cinderboar
  • Leather Gloves: Cinderboar
  • Unarmed (Claw): Brain Demon
  • Wand: Kuvou
  • Organic: Egg Run (Unsure if this was the Aktaari or the quest reward)

Infusing Sparks

Once you have a spark and an item to use it on, you must infuse the spark into the item. This requires a spark, item, and recipe. Many of the recipes for infusing weapons drop from the elves in Elven Judgement, and the rest are acquired as a reward from Inella (but it is currently bugged and the option does not appear). Infusion recipes normally require level 85 in the related skill. Foretold infusion recipes do not work on mastercrafted items, and vice versa.

You can infuse 40 sparks on an item. If the item is a mastercrafted or foretold in prophecy legendary rarity item, it can have 60 additional sparks infused.

Jewelry (Rings and Necklaces) can infuse an extra 10 sparks at the bench at the end of the Statehelm Crypt dungeon. This does not require a spark item or recipe (it's free), but has a 3 hour cooldown and requires killing the boss to use the bench.

Applying Sparks

Once you have infused sparks on an item, you can visit a bench to apply the stats. The bench I know of is next to Winston Veilmoor in Statehelm but I believe there are others (please list if you know).

This will present you with a list of of the type of stats that can be added to the item. Offensive stats for weapons and jewelry, and defensive stats for armor (unsure what belts get, please add if you know).

On selecting a type of stat, the window will display the different stat outcomes and the % chance for those outcomes. It costs 100 Combat Wisdom to roll the dice and apply the stats to the item.

Refunding Sparks

An item can be destroyed, refunding 80% of the sparks on it. I'm not sure exactly how this works, someone should fill this in if they have done it.
