Conversations
“Hello.
I'm looking to rehome some horses, if you know someone qualified.
- How can I get a horse?
- Well, I've broken the horse in, so you don't need to be an animal expert or anything, but you should at least know how to ride a horse! Once you learn that, I'd be happy to give you a horse. For a small fee of 3000 Councils to cover my expense.
- How would I learn how to ride a horse?
Well, where I come from, riding is something you learn as a child. (Mythander sniffs). But I suppose each society has unique expectations of their citizens. I could teach you the basics.
- Okay, please teach me!
- But teaching things is hard and boring. I suppose if you did a favor for me, I could take the time. Or alternatively, you could pay me a bunch of money.
First Horse Conversation
“Okay. I've moved (horse name) to your stable! You can start riding!
Of course, you won't have that great a time without a saddle. And Reins. And horseshoes. And a saddlebag.
And where do I get all that stuff
Not me. I've done enough!
“I came here in search of beautiful horses to take back with me to Verta. But the herd I remember is gone. I'm taking care of the stragglers for now, but I don't know what will happen to them when I leave.

“If the Council is so great, why don't they send an army to reclaim this land? It's overrun by goblins and pest. Humans just aren't good stewards of their lands.

“When I visited this region a few decades ago, there was a pack of beautiful wild horses. I guess the goblins ate them after Lore Eltibule abandoned his lands.
