Reports vary on exactly how much [[Fairy Dust]] is required to transform, with numbers ranging between 1 and 20. Individuals interested in becoming a permanent Butterfly need to repeatedly inflict themselves with the curse. Luckily, it seems that the amount of [[Fairy Dust]] required decreases after each successful transformation if the [[Fairy Dust]] is consumed shortly after the latest transformation fades. After multiple repeated temporary transformations, an individual may be cursed with the permanent version of [[Butterfly Transformation]]

Licking fairy dust consumes 25 metabolism. Anyone consuming Fairy Dust receives +1 to out-of-combat flight speed for 10 minutes, stacking up to 10 times. This effect is accompanied by the text: "For a moment your body seems to twist and shudder in response to the fairy dust."

If consumed by a non-fairy, also applies the following debuff (Each tier of debuff replaces the lower tiers. Amounts of dust consumed are approximate and may vary as an addiction):

Dust consumed Debuff Effects Duration Alert Text
7 Fairy Dust Headache You're having trouble concentrating. -20% Max Power 5 mins Your body is wracked by spasms! You seem to be mutating in response to all the fairy dust you're consuming.
11 Fairy Dust Poisoning Your body feels squishy and weak. +20% Direct Damage Vulnerability 5 mins For a moment, you experience perfect agony as your body compresses in on itself. Then the pain subsides to merely anguish-inducing levels. Everything hurts.
15 Severe Fairy Dust Poisoning Your body feels squishy and weak. +50% Direct Damage Vulnerability 5 mins For a moment, you experience perfect agony as your body compresses in on itself. You manage to wrest control of your body, but just barely.

Excessive consumption of Fairy Dust by a non-fairy may transform the eater into a butterfly for a five minute period. Upon transformation they will receive the message: "You've turned into a bug! Fortunately this will wear off...Suffer all fae racial penalties +10% Nature & Psychology Base Damage".

Reports vary on exactly how much Fairy Dust is required to transform, with numbers ranging between 1 and 20. It is likely that each individual consumption of Fairy Dust triggers a transformation chance roll, with each additional consumed Fairy Dust increasing in likelihood based on the amount consumed since last transformation. Once transformed, the Butterfly Transformation curse be applied for five minutes.

Individuals interested in becoming a permanent Butterfly need to repeatedly inflict themselves with the curse. Luckily, it seems that the amount of Fairy Dust required decreases after each successful transformation if the Fairy Dust is consumed shortly after the latest transformation fades. Users have reported between 1 and 11 Fairy Dust may be required for their second transformation, and between 1 and 5 for successive inflictions of the curse. After multiple repeated temporary transformations, an individual may be cursed with the permanent version of Butterfly Transformation

You've consume far too much fairy dust and now you're a butterfly forever. There is no known cure for this affliction, although you recall rumors of a substance called a "panacea" that could help... but if such a thing even exists, it would be extremely rare. Your best option now is to learn to live as a butterfly.

As a butterfly you can fly outdoors and you have a bonus to Metabolism damage, but you suffer reduced inventory and other penalties.
