The Third Forum
The following list does not contain all of Admin Jackencola's posts. One-on-one technical bug-fixing responses have been left out, as well as all posts from before their time as an Admin. Announcements of events which are recorded elsewhere (usually game updates) are also left out. Please note that newer posts are listed higher in this list. Older information may be outdated.
The 1000 VIP Challenge
- With our 1 year VIP subscriptions at a 15% discount during the Steam Summer Sale, we're offering a challenge to our community! If we can reach 1000 active VIP accounts before the end of July, we will schedule a special 48 hour session of super buffs for everyone! This includes XP buffs, training discounts, foraging bonuses and more! We always appreciate our community supporting the continued development of Project: Gorgon through our VIP program, and we also enjoy giving a little back from time to time. As of this posting, we are already at 880 active VIP accounts, so reaching 1000 is not a far stretch.
- For those who have not acquired a backer package yet, you can always start your VIP adventure there to get a little extra value for your investment. Already have a Steam VIP subscription? Not to worry! You can still enjoy the benefits of a backer package while having a VIP subscription. Your backer package VIP time will not start to count down until your Steam subscription has expired, or you terminate your Steam subscription.
- Gorgon Shop (for backer packages) - https://shop.projectgorgon.com/
- Steam VIP subscriptions - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...IP_Membership/
Kickstarter Package
- Those older packages must all be manually looked up and handled as all of that information has been archived since we released the initial e-mails with game keys. These tickets are usually handled in a batch at the end of each update cycle. Unfortunately, this update cycle has been longer than normal because of the size of the update. If we respond to your ticket now, it moves the ticket to another location, which increases the chance it might get overlooked when it is time to process the batch. Fear not, your ticket is in the batch to be processed (I just checked and confirmed it), and we are approaching the update, so you should be getting an e-mail with all of that information soon. We do apologize for the extended delay.
Gameplay Guides
- You can also check out all of the guides that were published through Steam by players as well.

VIP Token Sources
- VIP Tokens have been available in the game for quite some time now. They have been given out as prizes for a few contests, they can be won in the casino Match-3 games and they are also a standard prize during the MEGA Raffles which are held twice per year. The next one is due next month!
VIP Membership
- Can you please explain how that is a massive disadvantage? It takes a few more minutes to complete a batch of surveys...surely that's not it?
Questions about Alpha
- Correct, the alpha versions of PG (pre-Steam) were open and free to play. If the campaign didn't fund and you did not get a receipt for your package, then you would need to purchase the game through Steam.
- If you did get a receipt, then you need to contact [email protected] with that information so we can lookup and send you the Steam game key you are due.
Swith to Old Animations?
- No, the animations have been replaced.
Game Still Running after Close
- If you opened any browsers using the /forum, /wiki or /shop commands and still have them open, that is likely the issue. Close those browsers and you should be good.
Sending Support Tickets
- You can just send an e-mail to [email protected]. That will automatically create a support ticket in the system.
Angry Admin Hat
- *sigh*
- There are so many things wrong with this thread, so you'll have to excuse me as I put on my "Angry Admin" hat.
- 1. Since you chose to drag it into the spotlight:
- "I was banned from global chat today after logging in and then saying "greetings inferior non spiders" I don't know for certain if these were the specific words that had gotten me banned, but it was the only thing I could find that could be construed as negative in the only three sentences I said today." - Player
- Give me a break. First off, you were given a 15 minute public channel gag. Hardly a ban. If you were banned, you wouldn't have remained in the game. Secondly, the "Oh , but I'm innocent. I don't know what I did..." crap doesn't fly with me either. A similar incident occurred not even 48 hours prior and you were warned at that time to not do it anymore. When a moderator or admin tells you to stop, that means stop. Full stop. The warning doesn't magically disappear at the change of day. You knew exactly what you were doing. You just chose to ignore the warning. That's on you.
- 2. On a side note (since it was mentioned in the thread): While we do try to make it a practice to issue warnings about lighter offenses before taking action, we are in no way obligated or required to do so in any case.
- 3. The real sticking point -

- This was handled all wrong. If you felt you were wronged by a moderator, or an admin for that matter, you either submit a formal complaint via the in-game abuse tickets or by submitting an e-mail to [email protected]. At that point evidence from the server logs will be gathered and the issue will be reviewed by the admins as a whole (this includes the devs). You ended up taking the little bit of good faith you had and tossed it out the window while getting yourself even deeper in trouble by violating the rules yet again.
- We really dislike having to call people out publicly like this. It seems to be a common tactic by some thinking that if they do this they will get to dictate the story because the mods and admins will stay hushed. In most cases we won't bother, but from time to time we like to remind people that we are not afraid to do so when it is warranted. This stuck out as one of those times.
- The matter is now closed and will not be discussed further.

Broken Twitch
- Update:
- The Twitch issue has been resolved! PG and Elder Game, LLC are now verified through Twitch allowing us to monitor streamer analytics. Go get 'em streamers!

Windstep Shoes
- Sorry, but this is not completely accurate. There is absolutely 0 chance of getting windstep shoes or rugged amulets from the Level 60, 70 or 80 event loot chests. In the level 80 chest, there is currently a chance to get some level 70 items as well, but that will likely disappear now that the level 80 gear tiers are more filled out.
Crafting Caravan Upgrades
- One thing I left out of the event notes:
- When you barter for the Amulet or Shoes, you are guaranteed an Epic (purple) rarity item with a very very small chance for a Legendary (yellow) item.
Item Prices on Golem?
- That will likely not happen. Then it would become nothing more than an auction house.
Special Gear Drops
- Hey folks!
I'm working on a little project and would like your input on something. I know a lot of players at one time or another have stumbled across a really cool piece of loot drop gear that just seemed to have the perfect innates for you, but it was back at level 20 or 30 and you really wished that gear would come in a higher level version. IF it were possible, what really cool low/mid-level item(s) would you want to see in a higher level version? This can come from all categories - armor, weapons, jewelry...anything that can hold gear mods.
- I'm sure a lot of answers here will be similar to what folks would want to do if they ever won a MEGA Raffle token, but I don't want to know what you think would only be the best item, I want to know ALL the good ones!
- aaaaaand go!
Druid Event Times
- When Dreva wakes up, there are normally a solid stream of emergencies for about 4-7 days. After that, Dreva goes back to nap mode for a few weeks. We're getting close to another set of emergencies, so hang in there!
Race Change?
- Just to update - The official stance on allowing race changes is still a firm no. We have no plans or intent to alter that.
Loading Screen on Quit
- The pause is to ensure all settings that were changed during that session are properly saved. That includes anything changed in the settings window and also any UI elements that were moved/resized/altered in any way.
Redeemed Legendary Gear
- Well, I do hate to crush those dreams, but thanks to new internal game tech, the redeemed legendary gear items will be bound to the winner. That applies to all tokens redeemed moving forward. Even tokens that have not been redeemed yet from previous raffles.
Next Sale?
- The game is regularly on sale in-line with the Steam major sales. This has been the case since we launched on Steam as Early Access (Beta) back in 2018. We have no intention of lowering the base price of the game. In fact, the $40 base price you see is the Early Access price. It is very possible that the base price of the game may go up once we reach official release.
Event Feedback
- When running events, we sometimes take action to minimize the amount of looting that players can do if they aren't generally participating in the event. This encourages participation, and reduces resentment from other players. You just happened to get caught in one of those methods. When we do live events such as these, we are pretty free-form with the rules and do what we can to maintain a fun and fair event experience.
- I am sorry that you felt ignored. As it always is at the end of these events, I am completely swamped in tells regarding feedback, bugs, glitches, thank yous and suggestions. It takes time to sort through all of that and get everyone taken care of, especially when it involves fixing a glitch that occured during the event. By the time I could reply to you, you'd logged off. In the future if you're unable to stay online until I can respond to you, remember that you can use an in-game or e-mail support ticket to request information.
Stuck Character
- The correct command from an alt character is: /unstickchar <charname>
- If that does not break your character loose, let us know and we can apply a more invasive fix, but will it remove all effects (food, buffs, debuffs) from your character.
Time Played
- Between all my personal and admin toons - 5,294 hours (220.5 days)
New Backer Packages
- The current package campaign does not change or alter anything about the previous campaigns. You may have one backer package per account per campaign. In short, this means you can add one of the new packages to the same account as your duke package.
- To clarify that even further for the benefit of others, for example, you cannot redeem a Thoroughbred Breeder and Horse Lord package on the same account.
Wanting Crafted Pants
- Camouflaged xxxxxxx pants?
Player Names
- Well, that certainly isn't an allowed name. Did you submit an in-game abuse ticket about it? That's how those things are handled. You can submit about any type of ticket from in game by clicking the ! icon on the right bar.
Terms of Service
- Now with that being said, since we do not have a proper mail system implemented yet, we grant the courtesy of allowing players to log in two accounts for the purposes of item transfer ONLY. Anyone that abuses this courtesy beyond its intent can be subject to a permanent ban of all accounts. Once a proper mail system is implemented, this courtesy will be revoked and the standing rule will be fully enforced. If you suspect anyone of abusing this courtesy, we recommend that you submit an in-game abuse report immediately by using the ! icon on your right bar.
- What does this mean if you own more than one account or want to buy extra accounts? It means nothing. You can own as many accounts as you want, you are just restricted to one active account at a time.
- If you have multiple players in a household, you have nothing to worry about. It's usually pretty clear from our side when it's two people controlling two characters compared to one person trying to control two characters. We are also developing a special test that we can use to determine if a person is multi-boxing or not.
- I hope this clears up your misconception.
Gorgon Shop Old Packs.
- If the package came with a Steam key, then it's one of the pre-Steam packages. Those are not automated like the new packages. They have to be manually applied to the account by the devs. It will take a little time for that to happen.
Inventory Suggestions and More
- Inventory extensions - some form of this is already on the list.
- Portable council storage - IF I were able to pull this one off, the item would not be permanent. It would be more like the current storage crates. One time use. They would also be very expensive to barter for as well.
- Gear upgrades - specialized augs I have thought about. Implementing those might be a pain because there would have to be so many of them to cover all the gear slots.
- Unbreakable tools - sorry, but that one is a non-starter.
- Portable work stations - maybe a hookable form for housing and/or guild halls when all that comes, but definitely not for field use. This also would be extremely expensive.
Caravan Bater Prices
- I thought that was addressed fairly clearly. Right now all I have to go on is the extreme case scenario. Someone doing all of the tasks for the length of the event. With what is currently available, that would produce approximately 1,950 favor with Orran and 170 tokens per character. There is no way for me to know how much or how little any given player is going to do. This is why some pretty bland pricing was used and is also why the special items were not added for this run. Once the event has ended and people are feeding me that information, I can better balance the pricing for future events, as I said I would.
Win Raffle When Offline?
- As long as you can show up long enough to hit the raffle boxes, you're golden!
Returning Player - Steam Account Linking
- Was the last time you played before we went to Steam? If so, purchase of the game through Steam is now required, unless you bought one of the backer packages through Kickstarter, Indiegogo or the alpha version of the Gorgon Shop.
- If you bought a backer package but cannot find your e-mail, then you need to contact [email protected] and give them as much information as you can so they can look up your package and resend the info.
- If you are just looking for your alpha account info so that you may link your alpha account to a Steam account that has purchased the game, you will also need to contact [email protected] using the e-mail address that is connected to the alpha account.
Druid Limits
- Let's see if we can cover this:
- "No skills with metal weapons in main hand while using druid skill"
- This is mostly true, because most wooden items that allow druid are main-hand items anyway (for humanoid forms). The only offhand exception I can think of at the moment would be a wooden bow.
- "No skills with non Druid shape shifting forms while using druid skill"
- Along with deer, cows and spiders can be druids too! This is accomplished by wearing wooden harnesses or shoes, depending on the beast form. However, there are some beast forms that are not compatible with druid, like pig, giant bat and lycan.
- "when druid event is going on you don't get XP until the event is over."
- Mostly true. When a druid emergency is in progress, you cannot earn combat or crafting xp. Not all skills fall into one of these categories. For example, you can earn gardening xp when an event is active.
- "some NPC's won't talk with you while in shape shifted form"
- True. This applies to all beast forms (druid and non-druid) and non-humanoid illusions (bird forms).
- Hope this helps!
How Druid Event Kraken Work
- 1 - The spawning of a kraken egg from a live kraken is a RNG % chance. The eggs that come from the event spawners are hard-set along with all of the other kraken that are spawned with them. (Does the respawn rate of Kraken Eggs drop off over time or does it remain the same through the entire event?)
- 2 - No. (Do young Kraken spawn from eggs).
- 3 - No. (Do Hatchlings evolve into Young Kraken).
- Hope that helps!
Steam Forums Wiped?
- The access format of the Steam forums were changed. You now must own the game to view/post in the original forums. I have noticed that it disappears for some since the change. Logging into the game, exiting, then going back to the forums should clear that issue up.
- Also, it may have dropped you in the new forum "Steam Community Questions", which is viewable and postable by anyone. Check the right side of the page to see if the other forums are still listed there. If not, the above remedy should fix it.
Package Upgrade
- I'm sorry, but because of the code system used in the new Gorgon Shop, we do not offer the option to upgrade packages.
Spider Event Error
- Update on the spider event - The event encountered an error and was ended ahead of schedule. We apologize for the inconvenience. This is what happens when you're testing stuff!
- Thank you for the feedback that was given. Even though the event has ended, please feel free to continue doing so!
Enchanted Holly Seeds
- I'm really surprised nobody caught the easy holly seed score that was sitting right under everyone's noses.
- Kill Tyxr the Guardian Elemental in Serbule and loot his chest. A guaranteed Enchanted Holly Seeds every time.
- To be clear - the seeds drop in the chest that you open with the key that he drops...not directly from the mob. There were a few options to get the seeds, but I saw Tyxr as the "low hanging fruit" of those options.
Event Feedback
- The main purpose of the event was to test mechanics and stability of the new system. As was the purpose of all of the events that have been so far, and will remain the purpose of events to come for at least the next couple of months.
- Some will be more interesting than others. Some you will want to do and some you won't. Some you will be able to do and some you will not be able to do. There are lots of different scenarios to build and test before we are ready to do anything really serious with the new event system. Not to mention Lemons and myself have to figure out how to do it all first!
- That all being said, giving feedback about it is also fine. We can use it when the next pass for it comes around. As far as participation, that is your choice to make. As with any event, live or otherwise, that has ever been in this game, participation is always optional.
Goat Event Rewards
- For now, while we test payouts of different types, we're trying to keep it restricted until we are comfortable that there are no leaks/exploits to allow someone to amass crazy amounts of loot. These first few months of events are going to be a lot of oddball testing. I'm working on a blog that will explain what to expect over the coming tests, but I need more time working with the new system before I can release it.
Submitting Bugs
- The e-mail address [email protected] should be fully functional. As an alternative, you can also register at the site http://support.projectgorgon.com to submit a support ticket if you are having issues with e-mail. Also, the 'contact us' link at the bottom of this page is working fine as well.
Hitting a wall.
- It might a good point to just stop and smell the roses for a bit. Take a look at what you are lacking and what you need to bring yourself up to par. The game was never really designed for speed leveling. I took the track of picking a crafting skill (leatherworking) and leveling it along side of me leveling my first pair of combat skills. Like I would get my combat skill to 30, then I would level Leatherworking from 20-30 and make myself new gear. This always ensured I at least had proper on-level gear at all times. Then of course from there I expanded out the crafting and took on industry to help me finance all the skill unlocks and training.
- Also know that you do not have to do this all on your own. You can always find someone to help you craft what you need. There are a lot of folks around that will craft whatever you want for free, provided that you supply the materials. We have an outstanding community here...all you have to do is ask!
- There is no need to feel pressure or rushed to unlock skills. There is no "race to the top" in Project: Gorgon. You will get there when you get there. If you want to pause and flesh out a few side skills to help you get where you want to be...then do it! Your combat skills aren't going anywhere, they will be waiting for you when you are ready to continue the climb.
Game Guides on Steam
- A few folks have already started. Steam actually has a section where players can post guides.
Death Penalty
- Heh, you should have been around when the 'Enter the Light' portal to Serbule had unlimited use. Also young necros will suicide a lot to make graveyards to summon their minions.
Gorgon Shop Open
- Oh look! The Gorgon Shop is open right now! That doesn't mean you have to stop suggesting what else you would like to see in there though!
Housing
- Housing will be available to everyone when it is released. You just get it right away without in-game expense. Packages are always subject to change/rotate without notice. It is very possible more options may become available in the future. Hope that covers it!
New Gorgon Shop
- I know a lot of you guys have been practicing and threatening to use your 'fling money at the monitor' techniques here lately, but what exactly is it going to take to make you execute? This is what we want to know right here! What item, package or service would you like to see in the coming Gorgon Shop that will cause you to just make it rain?
- When answering that question, please keep a couple of things in mind:
- 1. We will only be starting out with a few basic (already planned) kickstarter-like packages, but it will expand over time.
- 2. We are trying our best to avoid any "pay-to-win" type scenarios on in-game items/services.
- 3. This is just to provide a centralized place to gather and accumulate this information to make it easier to review your requests and input when that time comes.
- So, what is it going to be? And...…..GO!
- Some good conversation here!
- I would totally rock a PG t-shirt, hoodie or hat.
- I don't really foresee the Shop as being too heavy on micro-transactions. They want to keep it fairly simple - A few package deals to choose from, maybe a few single-line items like order a custom title or the custom gravestone thing, maybe some simple services like guild rename and such. T-shirts and items of that nature are possible but we'll have to look into costs and logistics for it first.
- The VIP tokens for the VIP subscription option will also be sold there as well. To set expectations for that, The VIP option is very likely not going to come into play until right before release.
- I gotta admit I'm surprised I have not seen more chatter about custom titles on this thread so far. So I guess I'll poke your brains about it. How do you feel about that? Non-bestowable vs. bestowable?
- And finally to clarify on one point-
- Extra accounts will not be "outlawed", you just won't be able to log them all in at the same time. You can own as many accounts as you wish, but you will only be able to have one logged in at a time. Also to be clear, that will not happen until there is some form of item mail in place.
Transmutation Costs
- Use your leatherworking/tailoring/whatever gear craft leveling to fuel your transmutation/augmentation leveling. Also level your industry along side of it.
Spawning Spiders in Populated Areas
- [Full disclosure: As of this posting, Susie and I have already discussed the issue privately, and it has been put to rest. However, I still feel that I must address this here as well.]
- A phobia that will go to the point of causing physical pain is never ok. It is never acceptable. Something that I did caused Susie this pain and distress whether it was directly or indirectly, and therefore is also not acceptable. In knowing this, I have sincerely apologized to Susie.
- As for the issue in general, yes, there are going to be creatures in this game that are associated with phobias. Yes, there will be events where these creatures may spawn en masse, like spiders or snakes. I try to put subtle cues in the announcements when I can to give fair warning. For example, the spider invasion in Serbule. The announcement clearly states hundreds of spiders, so anyone with arachnophobia is going to know to stay away. I will also do the same for snakes moving forward. The show must go on no matter what, but we will try to make sure that everyone is taken care of and informed in these respects. We take this very seriously. If anyone has a concern of this nature that doesn't pertain to what has already been mentioned, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Hidden Anatomy Cap?
- You have to start killing higher level mobs of that anatomy type. You've "leveled out" for that particular mob.
Alpha Accounts
- After you purchase and install the game, start it up and click on the login button. At that point you will be given the option to enter your alpha account credentials or start a new account. Do not click new account! If you need to change the password for your alpha account, just hit the URL below. Also note if you load up the demo version, you cannot link an alpha account to that and additional steps will be required to reclaim your alpha account. If you do that, or you accidently clicked the new account button, contact [email protected] with all the details and we can get you fixed up.
- Alpha account password reset link: http://old.projectgorgon.com/passwordreset/
Coated Crystals
- You should be able to double-click a coated crystal to uncoat it for use. There may even be a right click option for it as well.
Patches on Full Moon
- Conspiracy? What conspiracy?
- *jedi hand wave* This is not the coincidence you are looking for...
Bug/Exploit Videos
- Also, when you want a post a video to submit info of an exploit/cheat/bug, Be sure to set that post to "unlisted" so that it cannot be easily searched up and viewed. Then you can submit the link in your e-mail to [email protected] . This helps to ensure that it stays discreet. I understand that it is posted with good intentions, but in some cases it can cause quite a problem in the time between reporting and fixing the issue. It leads to temptations and then that leads to good players getting punished...and we don't want that.
Birthday Party
- It's my birthday! Come help me celebrate it! Over the course of this weekend (Jan 25 - Jan 27), be prepared for random live events, raffles and treasure hunts! Lots of death, loot, buffs, prizes and kraken to be had! We'll see you there!
- It will be kinda scattered about. I gotta catch a nap here and there, but I'll bring the chaos as much as I can! I've been trying to pop in and get the party started, but my phone won't stop ringing!
Finding Craft Buffs
- Under Persona, if you click the arrows you will get to a page that shows you your combat/craft XP buffs. Maybe that can give you a more clear indicator.
Alpha or Beta Account Link
- After you buy the game, you will need to contact [email protected] and give them the name of your Demo character and the e-mail address tied to your alpha account. It helps if you can submit the e-mail from the e-mail account that is tied to the alpha account to speed along the process. This process is not instant and will require some Admin interaction to get done, but we can get you fixed up!
- I should also note that your Demo character/account will be deleted in the process.
Skill Suggestions
- We have some things similar to what you are asking for already in the game. I would suggest you give the skills in the wiki a good looking over. The level rewards for Cartography have not been implemented yet. You will get them for what you have already earned when they are released. Random events have been going on for a while now, and there is more to it than "potions and dancing" already. We get more and more tools for the live event system with every update, and the coming update will be no different. I guess you have not noticed the treasure hunts and Hogan's Tough Guy Academy. The great Spider Lord invasion of Serbule last weekend? Twice? There was no dancing there....only death!
Game Verisons
- I would also like to point out that if you used a previous version of the parser (v306 or earlier), you should clear out the folder you run it in of all *.dll files and just use the v307 .exe standalone. If you don't, the parser will crash every time after you hit 'Start'.
Bookshelf
- The bookshelf will still be useful to beast form players. That and most folks will just run to the bookshelf still out of pure habit.
Unable to use abilities.
- Your skills will also grey out if you do not have enough power to execute them as well.
Steam Alternatives
- Currently Steam is the only method of playing Project: Gorgon. There are no other alternatives planned at this time.
Rumors and Dev Communication
- The reason why none of that gets posted here on the forums is simply because it is not yet official. Bits and pieces on what Citan is working on as the process goes by is given to me, but that doesn't mean that it will actually be in the coming patch. Sure I'll throw pieces of info out there just to gauge a response, but again, that doesn't mean it's "confirmed". Even when Citan posts a dev blog about coming features...anything can change between that post and the final build for that update. A perfect example being this coming patch - how a mere casino evolved into a full service hub. If you want official, read the patch notes on the day the update releases...otherwise all bets are off. Anything can be altered/added/removed all the way up to the last moment. So yes, for the most part we avoid putting it all down here aside from what Citan chooses to officially share...because he's the big boss man and he does what he wants. I cannot speak for Citan, so I do not post anything about it, but I am free to openly discuss/theory craft/poll things that I'm allowed to talk about with the players whenever I'm in the game and hanging out. I prefer talking to a live crowd over forum posts. Perhaps one day we will evolve that, but that will not be right now.
- I did say we're expecting patch sometime this week (subject to change as always), but I'm afraid you got trolled. I didn't say anything about major nerfs. What I did say was that we have tweaks coming to storage this patch. If there is going to be ANY type of "major" nerf done to the game, it will be discussed in a dev blog by Citan himself well in advance....unless it deals with an exploit. If you're in doubt about something, you can always ask me when I'm around. Here on the forums, you can catch me on the Gorgon's Head discord, even on reddit and of course in game. If I have an answer to give, I will happily give it to you. The moral of the story here is: Ask BEFORE you freak out!
