“Skill in fighting as a wolf beast. Also indicates your ability to control and suppress the beast mode.
Fighting in Werewolf form is similar to Unarmed fighting, but you're using your claws and teeth instead of your fists.

Overview
Beast form makes for a very powerful animal form. You'll be able to change to and from it at will, with the following limitations:
- You may become a wolf at any given moment, but your beast spirit will resist turning back to humanoid form until you've killed enough enemies (the higher your level, the less kills you'll require).
- During the full moon, you will be forcefully turned into your beast form, and won't be able to turn back until it's all over. This happens once every lunar month, matching the RL moon cycles, for the three first days of it straight.
While you're in beast form, you will have the following abilities, among others:
- The ability to combine different moves, dealing mainly crushing and slashing damage, with several side effects such as stuns, heavy armor damage, bleeding, and even a special "pack attack" that will deal increased damage for each werewolf attacking the same enemy. As you find Lycanthrope gear, you will gain several combos from it, similar to unarmed meditation or sword calligraphy ones, that will give you even more effects and aoe options.
- The ability to howl, eventually gaining a morale boost buff from it that will increase your damage and regeneration. (Supposedly improves with the Howling subskill, altho the means to level up this subskill consistently and its effects are rather obscure).
- The ability to feed on enemy corpses (currently, no limit to what you can eat, even tornadoes!), gaining a very nice regeneration buff from this, for a duration that will depend on your Beast Metabolism subskill (the more you feed on enemies, the higher this subskill will go).
- During the four days before full moon, and the first three days of it (when you're already force-shapeshifted), you'll receive the Lunacy buff, which increases your max health by +30. (Both in your humanoid and beast forms)
- Keep in mind that, once you become a werewolf, you'll be especially vulnerable to silver and wolfsbane, both in your humanoid and beast forms. Eating foods that contain wolfsbane, and being hurt by or simply holding a silver weapon on your hand, are sure to cause some serious damage and potentially kill you.

You may find two members of a werewolf pack around the northern coast in Kur mountains. They will tell you off if you try to talk to them, unless you're a werewolf yourself. Jace Soral will teach you several alchemical recipes for poisoned weapons effective against werewolves. Sanja, the pack leader, will teach you the following skills. Both will require favor to be learned:

Also, completing a quest with Jace Soral to defeat Bleddyn the werewolf will grant you the following alternative shapeshifting ability:
Ability Name | Description | Level |
---|---|---|
Become Winter Wolf | Become a wolf with a thick winter coat of fur. (Use again to attempt to stop being a wolf). (+5 indirect cold damage mitigation) | 0 |
Combos
Equipping certain pieces of gear will grant you the ability to use combos much like when you do calligraphy or meditate. (This list could use some completing, as I don't have all of the data myself)
Combo Name | Sequence | Effect | Gear |
---|---|---|---|
Gore Master | Pack Attack + Claw + Pouncing Rake/Rend | Last attack will deal extra damage and hit all targets within 5 metres (also stunning or armor damaging them) | Gauntlets |
Incitement | Howl + Pouncing Rake/Rend + Claw + Bite | Last attack will deal extra damage and hit all targets within 10 metres | Gauntlets |
Pack Protection | Bite + Claw + Pouncing Rake/Rend + Pack Attack | Last attack will restore armor to you | Gauntlets, Boots |
Savaging Blows | Claw + Claw + Bite | Last attack will deal extra damage | Boots |
Fireteeth | Pouncing Rake/Rend + Claw + Bite | Last attack will ignite the target/s, dealing fire damage over time | Boots |
Deadly Rending | Claw + Bite + Pouncing Rake/Rend | Last attack will deal extra armor damage | Main hand, Off hand, Leggings |
Survival Master | Howl + Claw + Pouncing Rake/Rend + Bite | Last attack will restore health and armor to you | Amulet, Leggings |
Sanguine Horror | Howl + Pouncing Rake/Rend + Claw + Sanguine Fangs | Last attack will restore health to you | Chest |
- NOTE: If you have the same combo available from several pieces of gear, regardless of them being different or the same levels, performing it will trigger the combo multiple times (as many as times you have it). It's not certain if this is intended or not, although it has been reported.
- While not a combo itself, it has to be noted you can get the ability to turn your Bite skill into aoe through a gear effect from gauntlets. This also turns certain combos, like Fireteeth and Savaging Blows, aoe.
