“Preparing and treating lumber, and making things out of wood.
Carpentry is the skill of wood working, it is used to craft chairs and food accessories.
If you plan on gathering wood yourself, you'll need to buy a Handsaw from a vendor such as Therese in Serbule town. Alternatively, players of a high level may encounter a "Blade Necklace," an amulet slot item that also works as a handsaw.

Jara teaches Carpentry after you finish The Bear in There for her.
The Wombat in Sun Vale also has several useful recipes. (If only for the bonus XP for creating an item for the first time)
