The [[Great Weather Machine]] was a magical device developed by the [[Crone Hegemony]]. As the Crones were driven out of [[Ilmari]] by [[The Council of Thirteen]], they destroyed the machine. [[Ilmari]] was covered in storms for the next 24 years, transforming the fertile landscape into a barren desert.
Rumors of the [[Great Weather Machine]] appear every so often, with some believing it remains intact somewhere under the [[Ilmari]] Desert. The [[Naturesphere]] may operate on a similar magical principle to the [[Great Weather Machine]].
