The Inventory window can be resized however you want. The size of the items can be changed via '''Options > Gui and Windows''' > Inventory Item Icon Size.
To '''drop an item''' click and drag the item towards the bottom of the inventory, a box will appear with the label "Drop Item Here to Throw on Ground". Note that you can pick up the items discarded in this way, however anybody else nearby could do as well!
To '''split a stack of items''' left click the item while holding the shift key.
Note: Additional Inventory slots can be obtained through certain recipes and sometimes granted by item properties.
