'''About categories'''. Note that categories like "Mushrooms" may limit our ability later to index various item typesBtw, but that depends on how much is really worthwhile to index. To be honest I did the "Likes" categories mostly meant to learn how they work. Atm I usually just "/wiki spoons" say thanks for examplethe [[Sanja]] and [[Jace Soral]] additions, and the wiki search will give really nice! Hmm this just got me the relevant thinking, would it make sense to have a category for Beast friendly NPCs due to ? We could pull a list with DPL tag on the text searchbeast form pages. So atm Though I just don't know what is going myself if beast friendly NPCs talk to be the use for them, but I am not at all experienced in MediaWiki so maybe I am missing something. One idea in the longer term would be to add little icons next to the items in the "Small Talk" section, and clicking those will go to the category page, showing other NPCs that like the similar itembeasts or only certain kinds. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 0805:4415, 2 12 October 2014 (CDT)
PS: Oh It isn't uniform between them. For example, I see what you did there with know that Mushroom Jack, the [[:Category:Likes]] pageHogan's Keep goblins, Azalak, etc. all speak to all beast form players, however Suspicious Cow only speaks to Deer, Pigs, and Cows, and I'm fairly certain Sanja only speaks to Wolves (It was full moon when I last spoke to her, good idea :so I couldn't check) --. No doubt there are other exceptions I haven't found yet. [[User:GorgonzolaKarunama|GorgonzolaKarunama]] ([[User talk:GorgonzolaKarunama|talk]]) 0815:5039, 2 12 October 2014 (CDT)
==Zone pages & monster statsCategories==If you have the energy Note that categories like "Mushrooms" may limit our ability later to add invividual pages index various item types, but that depends on how much is really worthwhile to many foes index. To be honest I think it would be better did the "Likes" categories mostly to edit their stats (armor/healthlearn how they work. Atm I usually just "/power) as well as Anatomy knowledge inside their relevant pages wiki spoons" for several reasons:* The stats will be duplicated between the parent pageexample, and monster pages, requiring more edits in the future (also keep in mind some of these general foes may very well appear in more zones in wiki search will give me the future, thus further increasing relevant NPCs due to the number of places we have text search. So atm I just don't know what is going to update be the use for them), but I am not at all experienced in MediaWiki so maybe I am missing something.* <strike>I planned One idea in the longer term would be to make a nice add little stats template with Armor/Health/Power icons.. I next to the items in the "Small Talk" section, and clicking those will edit it in go to the creature pagescategory page, but they won't work in showing other NPCs that like the zone pages similar item. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] (in the table format)</strike> DONE [[TemplateUser talk:MOB infoboxGorgonzola|talk]]* Helps trim down the zones pages which may grow long and unwieldy over time* And most importantly imho, this gives the option for people to reveal more at their own discretion) 08:44, by following the link 2 October 2014 (ie. the further away from the main page, the more details, kind of a spoiler hierarchyCDT).
<strike>psPS: Oh Isee what you did there with the '''Category:Likes'''ll try to get a nice little Armor/Health/Power template soon. Thanks for all the page, good work!</strike> DONEidea :) --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 08:50, 2 October 2014 (CDT)
==NPC Shop Icons==Hi guys. I think the basic Shop icons templating is ready for use. See [[NPC Template]] and [[Item Icons Guide]]. Many icons are reused in-game so a lot of items in shop listings should be covered. We will just add icons over time whenever the fancy arise :) I have some ideas to make it easier to create those shop listings (with a little script).. but for now that's how it works. IF you somehow want more data on the shop, msg me in-game (Gorgonzola), or post on my page, or post on the [[Talk:NPC Template]] I should see it. Currently you can see one idea for Lucky Belt is I used a ABBR tag to put the skills in the tooltip. There's always compromises to be made, I think icons make the shop list easier to scan, and is worth the extra space. Having those icons also gives us other possibilities, for example see [[Sword#Equipment]]. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 0916:5231, 3 6 October 2014 (CDT)
: Hmm. ==Creature Type Pages==Hi Karu, as discussed I now realize certain creatures like [[Skeleton Archer]] may use different stats depending where they spawn'm wondering how to handle the creature types. So I see two solutions here: 1) if tis is really necessary (I think it's overkill and documenting for documenting's sake, imho, which is pointlessyou seemed to have interest in that part of the wiki) we can document the stats . Atm creature type more or less equals in -game Anatomy classification right? Thats probably the body articlemore logical way to go. So we have "Arthropod", "Fungoid", "Goblin", for each zone the mob appears inetc. First I'm definitely not going would suggest to bother doing that in alphamake new pages, and I'd like to save my sanityreather than use the Category Page themselves. [http://wiki.guildwars. 2) Much more reasonable imho is to document the Armorcom/Healthwiki/Rage only for named creatures, in the [[Template:MOB infobox]Arachnid Here is an example from GWW Arachnids]. This is simpler, and it's also useful, whereas documenting stats of a sickly wolf is pretty pointlesss (imho) and a waste of our time (AND, personally if I do something I'd like Perhaps on that page you can list the Anatomy XP you wanted to do it well.? On this page we can make an automatic list with DPL tag. if The ones we want to document every single mobdon's statst have an article yet, itwe can just manually list them in that page so we don's going to be endless work, so t forget about it's only going to be half-done work, whereas documenting all the boss type creatures is totally doable during alpha).<br><br>(Let's make I would do just like GWW and use a smallsimple page name: "Fungoid", but coherent and useful wiki"Goblin", "Giant", "Plant" , rather than one that adds up etc. If needed later we can add the anatomy pages(the sub skills), so eg. "Dinosaur" is the creature type, half of them near empty of substance and being of no interest "Dinosaur Anatomy" would be a skill page (if we ever want to the playerdocument these).)<br><br>So for the general creatures Only too generic name I will look at the template and can see that the Armor/Health/Rage is only optional so it can show only for the bosses "Plant" (otherwise it will be incorrect as I explained as certain basic monsters exist in various "strengthsBiting Vine"s in Sun Vale). For Therese, you used '''Category:Plants''' (plural)as the Likes category, so there is no collision there. Let me know what you think. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 1620:4532, 3 6 October 2014 (CDT)
==Misc==So to clarify I propose to make these pages named exactly: Aberration, Arthropod, Bear and Bugbear, Canine, etc. (exactly as written in the in-game anatomy sub-skills). I fixed "Dinosaurs" (Dinosaur) and "Ruminant Ungulate" (Ruminant) as these didn't correspond to the in-game skills pane. All these pages are non-plural (unlike the "Likes" categories). If you're fine with that, feel free to go ahead with any of these pages. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 20:45, 6 October 2014 (CDT) Could : I went ahead and created a few pages to get a better idea of how that would work. As you let me know if mentioned that you planned to "make (anatomy) page link to the relevant creature anatomy info".. I edited a few links in there. So you can see the general picture: Anatomy sub-skills table links to the creature type pages ("Aberration", "Undead", etc). Hopefully that's what you got notified meant. On each creature type page I put a small mention of my last repliesthe Autopsy Kit (links back to Anatomy page). Those pages use DPL tag to list the currently categorized creatures. The other ones we can add manually for whenever we feel like adding the page later (the red links can act as a todo list basically, as eg. in [[Plant]] I put one I found that Idon'm not sure how notifications are firedt have time to document atm). If you have ideas for this page feel free to make something like '''Creature Type Template''' so we can decide on a structure there? --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 15:57, 7 October 2014 (CDT) : PS: As you can see I reorganized used the in-game Anatomy sub-skills description to get a basic intro for the page. --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk ]]) 16:00, 7 October 2014 (CDT) ==Beast Form Pages==Regarding your recent edit of Spider Form. Actually I think it would make sense to use "Pig Form" or maybe "Pig (beast form)". When I started editing here, there was already "Cow Form", which seemed logical. But then there is "Lycanthropy" instead of "Werewolf Form"... Personally I would prefer to have consistent "Animal Form" page a bit by topics names, as the Deer, Pig, Spider are too generic articles and maybe that stops intuitively sound like the basic creature or type. Let me know what if you want you can go ahead making the "new messagexxx Form" from workingpages and moving content there, and blank the ones behind. As far as I know whenever you reply with indents a player may /wiki spider ... In that case I would suggest to add to the intro of the basic creature "A player can turn into (animal), see [[animal Form]]". How's that sound? --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ( [[User talk: character Gorgonzola|talk]]) 05:04, 7 October 2014 (CDT:I agree that it should be internally consistent, so if I was going to consider the best way to do it, IMHO it will notify would be '''Spider (Skill)'''. That way Lycanthropy and the various beast forms stay heterogenous, both with themselves and all the other personbattle skills. [[User:Karunama|Karunama]] ([[User talk:Karunama|talk]]) 07:14, but 7 October 2014 (CDT) :: Sure, I like that . Makes sense , it is a full skill line right. So '''Spider (Skill)''' [[Cow (Skill)]], etc. Not sure wjhat you mean with Lycanthropy. Should we have '''Lycanthropy (Skill)''' or '''Werewolf (Skill)'''? i think the latter may require the person be easier for players? --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 08:07, 7 October 2014 (CDT) :: Btw, if you respond to blank out a page sometimes and don't know what to have signed (do with it, you can use <code>#REDIRECT <nowiki>--~~~~[[pagename]]</nowiki></code> to make it into a redirect. (presumably that does the exact same thing as "Move", it is not possible to truly move a page it seems, or not obvious at all). --[[User:Gorgonzola|Gorgonzola]] ([[User talk:Gorgonzola|talk]]) 1408:09, 7 October 2014 (CDT) ::: Definitely Lycanthropy (Skill). That's how it appears in the game's skill tab, after all. [[User:Karunama|Karunama]] ([[User talk:Karunama|talk]]) 11:1602, 5 7 October 2014 (CDT)
