The path of the Prodigy can be a slow one. But your potential is now nearly limitless. Use your power responsibly.

— Prodigy Potential Unlock Screen

Prodigy Potential is an experience system which unlocks upgrades to skills beyond Level 100. Most of the applicable skills are Combat Skills, however combat-adjacent skills such as Endurance use the system too.

Unlocking Prodigy Potential

Prodigy Potential is usually unlocked at the same trainer who unlocks the experience cap for Level 91-100. The requirements to unlock Prodigy differ between skills. Most skills require a Favor level of at least Close Friends with the trainer, and since most Prodigy Potential teachers are found in Statehelm, the weekly limit of 5 gifts per week can make unlocking this mechanic a lengthy process.

Most skills require a base level (excluding Synergy Levels) of 100 to unlock Prodigy Potential.

Statehelm based trainers offering Prodigy Potential unlocks accept either Councils or Statehelm Renown as payment. Trainers in Vidaria may accept Vidaria Renown.

Leveling with Prodigy Potential

Once unlocked, Prodigy Potential for a particular skill will allow experience to be earned in combat towards 100 Prodigy Levels, with each level requiring 250,000,000 combat experience.

Each Prodigy Level earned rewards skill-specific Prodigy Tokens, which can be spent at the corresponding intractable Prodigy Research altar. Prodigy Research altars are hidden across Alharth, although currently all are in Statehelm, its dungeons, or Vidaria].

  • Altars can be books, shields, anvils, and many other objects.
  • Some Prodigy Research altars only appear during specific times, such as the Vampirism altar which appears only during the <event name> in Statehelm.
  • Not all Prodigy Research Altars are near the trainer for Prodigy Potential.
Spend Tokens

Every skill has different power-ups Prodigy Tokens can be spent on, which are separated into Tiers of increasing cost. Each tier of unlock stacks, and does not replace previous tiers. If an unlock for Tier 1 gives +15 Max Health and the Tier 2 unlock gives +23 Max Health, unlocking both results in +38 Max Health.

Unlocking Tiers of a power-up costs both Prodigy Tokens and Combat Wisdom.

Example of +Max Health Tiers from Psychology:

Tier Power-Up Cost
Tier 1 +15 Max Health when Psychology Active 2 Tokens and 44 Combat Wisdom
Tier 2 +23 Max Health when Psychology Active 3 Tokens and 67 Combat Wisdom
Tier 3 +31 Max Health when Psychology Active 5 Tokens and 113 Combat Wisdom
Tier 4 +39 Max Health when Psychology Active 8 Tokens and 183 Combat Wisdom
Tier 5 +47 Max Health when Psychology Active 13 Tokens and 298 Combat Wisdom
Tier 6 +55 Max Health when Psychology Active 21 Tokens and 483 Combat Wisdom
Tier 7 +63 Max Health when Psychology Active 34 Tokens and 784 Combat Wisdom
Tier 8 +71 Max Health when Psychology Active 55 Tokens and 1270 Combat Wisdom
Tier 9 +79 Max Health when Psychology Active 89 Tokens and 2057 Combat Wisdom
Reset Tokens

Prodigy Research Altars allow for spent Prodigy Tokens to be reset, allowing redistribution of the tokens. The cost of a reset is 100,000, and Combat Wisdom spent is not refunded.
