There's a new activity for Project Gorgon's most expert riders: horse races! These are checkpoint races through the wilds; to finish the race, you must ride through each glowy domed checkpoint in order. There are other glowing points to look out for as well: if you run through a speed-up pool, your horse will go faster but become more anxious and may suffer other negative effects, while other glowing pools can reduce anxiety and help counter the speed-up's negative effects. Oh, and most importantly: avoid monsters!

Racing Mechanics

Racing earns experience when races are completed. Race courses can be found across Alharth.

Leaderboards

All standard race tracks have a learderboard table which resets on the first of each month. Race tracks display a Score (time), Player (name), and Notes. The Notes column of a racing table encodes a character's skills, form, and status info.

In this example, a player named Lice with a Riding skill level of 84 completed a race in 1 minute 13 seconds while in Cow form. They passed through 29 checkpoints.

Prizes

Completing standard races may reward prizes including Participation Ribbons, Racing Medals, and Racing Gems. These items can be attached to a Reign or Saddle using recipes learned the first time one of the prizes is used by a character.

Special Reins and Saddles can also be awarded, such as the Exceptional Racing Reins which grant +12 Mount Resilience to Damage While Racing.

Each standard race has two loot profiles (lists of possible loot) that successful racers can receive rewards from. The Eltibule Circuit uses the profiles "Racing_Eltibule" and "Racing_EltibuleExcellent." Which profile loot is awarded from upon completion of a race depends on the ability of a racer to complete a race under the Excellent Time Maximum for that race.
