Scribbled Note is an intractable object in the Ranalon Den.

Day 1:

Laud died in my arms. I don't know why they left me alive. It's like they're toying with me. They can tell I don't have the energy to fight back. I'm only barely keeping myself alive with my spells and whatever potions we had left, but that will only last for so long. Every time I step past the walls, they attack again, with each attack being more harsh than the last. I heard about how rapidly they grow stronger, but we never thought they'd grow stronger in just days.

Day 2:

I'm low on food now. Even with Laud's rations, I only have enough for today and tomorrow. We were never meant to be in here for more than a day. I knew that damned Ranalon couldn't be trusted, but Rhoek seemed to trust her for one reason or another. We went back to the door and the lever wasn't working no matter what we tried. They must have done something to it while we were busy doing their dirty work. Now I"m stuck here with my best friend's body and an audience of Ranalons watching as I slowly get closer to dying of hunger.

Day 4:

I hope whoever finds this journal, short as it is, doesn't encounter the same fate as us. If you make it out of here, remember our names and tell our families what became of us.

A list of names is written at the bottom of the page, with some smudges that seem to have come from drops of water.
