Gourmand is the skill of eating and getting the most out of food.
It can be obtained by eating all kinds of food which can be cooked, bought from vendors, or simply gathered (for example Large Strawberries). Eating new kinds of food for the first time will reward more experience (similar to the way the Dying skill functions, you may even attempt both at once!).
The Gourmand though is most commonly obtained from the bucket in the starting area.
