Major Torkek:

There is good news and bad news.

The good news is that our new training beast has been tamed. And Beakhorse is a mighty creature that strikes fear in the hearts of those that see it fight. We are gladdened! For too long the thaumaturge team has been treated unfairly, but now mages command a bit more respect in Gazluk!

The bad news is that Beakhorse is too dangerous for training practice. It has killed two young elementalists and mangled four others. Sergeant Yakagra has not yet regained feeling in her casting arm. I have ordered all mages to avoid angering the beast.

Since we cannot use it for training, I recommend we call it our 'mascot.' Another idea, suggested by Trovag, is to kill it and use its feathers for quills. However, we plucked one feather to test this idea and found that they make poor writing implements. (That incident is also how Yakagra's arm was mangled).

Lt. Frekat:

I commend your team for taming the hippogrif. But since the creature cannot be used to help us train, you have ultimately failed. 'Beakhorse' consumes six orcs' meals per day, and its shit reeks so badly that I have had complaints from as far away as the mess hall.

But we cannot kill the creature without bringing embarrassment to the thaumaturgic team. And I will not tolerate more mockery of us! Tell Gut-Ache that you need his leftover slop at the end of each day. No-one will miss that, and hopefully it will keep the beast fed. And have someone clean up its shit three times per day so that I hear no complaints about that.

And Frekat... what's this I hear about a "secret shower room?"
