“Using Fire to destroy your enemies. This is a very potent offensive skill, including long-range and area-effect attacks, and even some Cold attacks for versatility. However, there are drawbacks: Fire Magic is extremely Power-intensive; all creatures generate extra Rage when they are burned; and many creatures have some resistance to fire.
Fire Magic is taught by Velkort and allows for devastating damage output, at the cost of high power drain.
The skill is rather expensive due to the required Sulfur, Saltpeter and Fire Dust.
An interesting mechanic is that Fire Magic has a “Fire Wall” pet that just stands around and burns things. It’s implemented as a pet internally, but since it’s a wall, it can’t follow you around. It’s more like a trap.[1] (it can also be killed by enemies)
Obtaining the Ingredients
- Fire Dust
- Drops from Fire Spiders (pink looking spiders). There is a spider area in one corner of Eltibule zone, and also a few down the hill in front of Hogan's Keep.. but those are surrounded by Tor-Urak.
- Sulfur
- Rare drop from miscellaneous creatures. Said to drop 15:1 from bovines in Eltibule.
