I'm the principal architect of the Red Wing Casino. I oversaw the castle excavation and all the rebuilding. I developed the pneumatic tube plans nd even set up the game machines. And now? Now you know what they have me doin'?

So a few months back Qatik comes to me and says, "We had to take all the goblin enemies out of our casino games. The goblins only want to be seen as friendly merchants."

And I said, "Well that's pretty shitty." I mean what am I supposed to say? Apologize? I don't know!

And then Qatik says, "Do we need to take dwarven enemies out of our games too?"

And I said, "Fuck no! Just make sure every dwarf is a deadly warrior. There are no low-level dwarves! Haha! I swear if those bugs could roll their eyes they'd be eye-rollin' every time they talk to me. But they did what I asked. So can't complain.

What?

Maintenance! I fix the machines, stock the rewards and so on. As if I'm some godsforsaken engineer instead of a master architect!

Why do you stay, then?

Because they keep paying me extravagantly. And because they let me bring in a bunch of my clan to work in the shops. And because they're planning a big expansion "real soon" and if I leave they'll let goblins do it!

Goblins?

Aye, goblins. The mantises hired goblin laborers to help build everything, and it turned out mostly okay -- by a fucking MIRACLE I should add -- so they're keen to use 'em again, since goblins are dirt cheap. The queen learned that goblins have their own casinos, so she thinks she can hire a "goblin casino architect" to build out their next expansion. I told her goblin casinos aren't anything like high-end dwarven casinos, but... well that's the thing with these idiot bugs: they don't know what they don't know.

Anyway, it's fine. I'm just staying for a few more years to oversee the upcoming expansion and make sure my name stays attached to this place. Then I'll head home and get more architecting work.
