Zhao is a student of the art of Flower Arrangement. Living in the Rakshasan city of Rahu, flower supplies can be low.

Greetings, human. I buy flowers and seeds, if you wish to sell them.

What do you do with them?

It is an art form that was created by Rakshasa. Or so my parents taught me. I have heard visiting elves claim that they invented it, and even orcs have laid ownership to the art. But it does not matter. Flower Arrangement is a traditional art form, and so I follow the traditions I know. In my tradition, it was invented by Rakshasa long ago. But the art is quite different on our homeworld.

How is it different on your homeworld?

I have never been to our homeworld, of course, but Ravana is not like here. It is always dark, even when the sun is high in the sky. The air weights heavy upon your bones. Water is very scarce. Our people can shape shift there, and take different forms at different times of day.

There are no flowers as we know them on Ravana. The 'flowers' my mother described are... hard for me to imagine. Poisonous, sentient, and angry. Flower Arrangement there is a contest of wills. But our people have spread to many worlds, and on each world we reinvent the art form with that world's plants.

And now you carry on the art form too?

No. My brother Hian is the heir to my parents' workbooks and teachings. I went wandering into the desert in my youth, you see... and my mother never forgave me. But since Hian refuses to teach me, I have spent the past few years trying to recall my childhood lessons. I now have modest skill.

Is the work rewarding?

I suppose so. It is also reasonably lucrative. My brother charges far too much, so many poorer people come to me for traditional ceremonial arrangements. I have a special on birthing arrangements right now, if you were expecting a child soon?

Um, not that I know of.

Can you teach me how to arrange flowers?
