Forthragarian Engineering Pod
The Forthragarian Engineering Pod is a device located in Forthragarian Caves, behind the Tripartite Barrier. It uses Phase Duractors to upgrade crafting materials to higher tiers. This is currently the only way to obtain some of the highest tiers of certain resources.
Location
The Engineering Pod is located in Forthragarian Caves, which are part of the cave system beneath the Povus region (area level 90–95). It is situated behind the Tripartite Barrier, which requires all three Tripartite Keys to be in your inventory to pass.
Obtaining Phase Duractors
Phase Duractors can be obtained in the following ways:
- Gathered from filtration devices in Errruka's Cave and Forthragarian Caves with 50 Gadgeteering skill.
- Dropped by level 90+ mobs.
What It Will Upgrade
One Phase Duractor will upgrade one batch of materials as follows:
Metal Slabs
All Metal Slab tiers upgrade at a 5→5 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor, with one exception at the top of the tier chain. The upgrade from Extraordinary Metal Slab to Otherworldly Metal Slab is 1→1. This exception is intentional and was confirmed by developer Nikodemus.

Inks
All Ink types and tiers upgrade at a 7→7 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor. The four ink types are plain Ink, Caustic Ink, Holistic Ink, and Volatile Ink.

Note: Plain Ink uses straightforward tier names (e.g. Basic Ink, Incredible Ink). Caustic and Volatile Ink use slightly different adjective forms at higher tiers (Breathtakingly Caustic Ink, Incredibly Caustic Ink, Breathtakingly Volatile Ink, Incredibly Volatile Ink). Holistic Ink follows standard naming throughout.

Animal Skins upgrade at a 7→7 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
Leather Rolls
Leather Rolls upgrade at a 5→5 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
First Aid Kits
First Aid Kits upgrade at a 5→5 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
Armor Patch Kits
Armor Patch Kits upgrade at a 5→5 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
Parchments
Parchments upgrade at a 10→10 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
Saddle Blankets
Saddle Blankets upgrade at a 1→1 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
Skinning Knives
Skinning Knives upgrade at a 1→1 ratio with 1 Phase Duractor.
