Sword damage is actually quite good, the main hurdle to get over is to find ways to manage the Power Cost of abilities (ed: it may be just bad luck as I haven't seen any power-enhancing Sword augments yet, they are probably there though).
Please note that the [[Calligraphy]] Skill offers a 1 hour buff, which grants the ability to use a combination of certain Sword abilities to get a bonus. The bonus can be things like extra damage to the mob(s) or health gains for you.
Leveling up 51-60 Sword requires speaking to [[Janet Lews]] in Kur Mountains. The cost starts high but lowers with higher favor.
