“It is rare for spiders to have long-term mates, even talking spiders like myself. But I beat the odds! I had a mate for four memorable seasons.
We quarreled over how (and whether) to raise our children and eventually she left me.
I turned to my work, and when I began to fail that, I knew it was time to retire.— Skitters
Skitters is an intelligent Spider who lives in the city of Statehelm and works at the School of Magic.

“Thank you for delivering my suit. I left it back home when I came to live in Statehelm.
You know, I told myself I'd never have to don this suit again. But I just can't stand by and watch as my intelligent animals in this city are killed. I am old for a spider, and this may be my final adventure, but... perhaps I was growing tired of retirement anyway.
Give my thanks to Pumza.
Perhaps I can help you with this adventure?
You are no weakling! Well, I work best alone. But I am an old spider. If you think you can take on a mission of great importance, you can go in my stead.
— Skitters (When suit item is delivered)
“Have you ever heard of the Land of Singing Spiders? It's another realm. Spiders that serve Akhisa sometimes find themselves there after they die.
I've served Akhisa from time to time. As I age I start to ponder whether rebirth in the Land of Singing Spiders would be good or bad. Returning to nothingness wouldn't be so bad, and it's a known outcome. What if we're forced to sing forever? It's called the Land of Singing Spiders, after all.
I like an occasional song, but only in moderation.
