“Skill in the act of removing fur or skin from an animal. You need to be carrying a Skinning Knife in order to skin a corpse. Corpses of sentient creatures, such as goblins and humans, can't be skinned.
Skinning is a skill that allows the player to collect the hides and furs of animals. These can later be treated with the tanning skill into rawhide and leather.
To start raising this skill you need a Simple Skinning Knife. You can get one either by helping Ivyn or buy one from Kleave.
Tips
Rats, pigs, wolves and deer are good to start on. Even so, at low level the skill will fail a lot.
Good areas to raise the skill in Serbule are:
- Between the town and the Tutorial Cave (east on the minimap) lots of Pigs and Wolves
- In the Serbule Sewers, lots of Sewer Rats

Leveling up skinning rewards tanning, leatherworking and butchering skill increases.
