Contents
Guilds are an in-game option for players to organize themselves into groups. Guild membership grants various benefits such as the ability to earn Guild Credits, access to Guild Storage Vaults, Guild Quests, and Guild Halls. Each character can be a member of a single guild, although characters may leave a guild if they want and receive an invite to a new one.
The Guild Roster
Guild creation and management is performed at a Guild Roster. There are two Guild Rosters in the game. One of them is a sign in Serbule and the other is a book in the Red Wing Casino.
Guild Creation
When players who are not in a guild interact with a Guild Roster, they are provided with the option to spend 10,000 Councils to create one.
If they pay the fee to begin the creation process, they will need to create a Guild Name. Guild Names "are not permitted to use profanity, racism, or general dickishness in your guild name, guild titles, ect."
The individual who starts a guild is granted the rank of Guildmaster and can instantly start inviting other players to their guild. When examined, players who are not currently in a guild will display the option "Invite to Guild."
Guild Management
Players in a guild will see up to ten options when interacting with a Guild Roster sign. With the strictest possible permissions, a character will only see Guild Status, Guild Roster, Spend Credits, and Quit Guild.
- Guild Status - Provides basic information on the Guild.
- Guild Roster - Shows the online status and rank of all players in the Guild.
- Edit Ranks - This option allows players with permission to edit the ranks of the guild.
- MoTD - Allows editing of a Message of The Day which is shown to guild members when they log in.
- Misc Configuration - Options which do not fit other categories.
- Spend Credits - A shop for spending guild credits. Shop contents and how Guilds earn credits can be found on the Guild Quests page.
- Promote Member - Allows a player to promote any member of a lower rank to any rank below their own (if ranking permissions are granted). A character ranked as Guildmaster can promote others to Guildmaster though.
- Demote Member - Allows a player to demote any member of a lower rank to any other lower rank (if ranking permissions are granted). A Guildmaster can demote other Guildmasters.
- Eject Member - Allows a player to remove any lower ranked guild member from the guild (if ranking permissions are granted).
- Quit Guild - The option to quit a guild. Guild Credits are reset to zero when this option is used.
Guild Status
All member of a guild are able to see the Guild Status option from the Guild Roster, which provides the following information:

- X/250 members
- Guild Level: X
- Guild XP: X of X needed for next level

Edit Ranks
This option allows players granted permission to edit the ranks of the guild. A newly created guild will have 10 ranks with default permissions already applied.
“Each guild member is assigned to one of ten 'ranks'. Usually lower-numbered ranks have fewer privileges than higher ranks, but there's some flexibility to allow you to create whatever system you need. However, Rank 10 is Always the most important rank. The guild's creator is rank 10. Newer members are rank 3 by default, but you can change their starting rank.
Most guilds won't actually use all ten ranks! You'll just use a few and ignore the rest. The others are there to give you flexibility as your guild grows and evolves.
Each rank has a title (which you can change) and has permission to do certain things, like setting the Message of The Day or inviting new guild members.
We've set up a simple rank system by default. It works like this:
Rank 3 is the default rank for new people, which means new players can invite other people into the guild. If you don't like that, you can change the default rank to 2 ('Novice'). This rank is just like 'Member', but they can't invite new people to the guild.
- - Rank 1 ('Probation') is a rank you can assign to people who are abusing their privileges. They have no special powers at all.
- - Rank 3 ('Member') is for regular members. They can invite new guild members.
- - Rank 5 ('Sheriff') can kick people out of the guild, as well as changing the ranks of lower-ranked members.
- - Rank 7 ('Lieutenant') has all the powers of the Sheriff and can also set the Message of The Day. THey can also promote/demote Sheriffs.
- - Rank 10 ('Guildmaster') can do everything, and can change these ranks to have different meanings.

Guild Permissions
- Invite New Members - Members with this permission can invite anyone to join the guild.
- Promote Members - Members with this permission can increase the rank of other guild members -- but never to a rank higher than they are themselves (unless they are the Guildmaster).
- Demote Members - Members with this permission can decrease the rank of other guild members, but they can't change the rank of people higher-ranked than themselves.
- Kick Members From Guild - Members with this permission can kick people out of the guild. Only people lower-ranked than they are can be kicked out.
- Set Message of The Day - Members with this permission can set the Message of The Day for the guild.
- Change Guild Configuration - Members with this permission can change the settings of the guild, including giving themselves new permissions! This should only be given to the most trusted members. Rank 10 always has this permission.
- Display Guild Identity - This permission causes guild members to automatically show their guild names and rank when they are examined by other players. (By default, all ranks have this permission.)
- View Guild Roster - Members with this permission can view a list of all guild members. (By default, all ranks have this permission).
- View Audit Logs - Members with this permission can view the Audit Logs for the guild.
- Buy Additional Vault Slots - Members with this permission can purchase additional Guild Storage Vault slots.
- Set Vault Descriptions - Members with this permission can edit the descriptions on each Guild Storage Vault.
- Access Serbule Vault #1 (permissions exist for each vault) - Members with these permissions can add or remove items from a vault.
- Accept Guild Quests - Members with this permission can accept Guild Quests.
- Cancel Guild Quests - Members with this permission can cancel a Guild Quest.

The difference in costs between locations (and Vault #1 vs #2) should be considered with Guilds looking to expand their storage. An example of this difference is that Slot #38 in Casino Vault #1 costs 12,000 Councils, while slot #30 in Rahu Vault #2 costs 13,200 Councils.
Guild Storage Vault controls
Members of a guild with proper permissions and a high rank can control the access of Guild Storage Vaults for lower ranked members.
Items added and removed from a storage vault leave behind a record in a log viewable by members of a guild with permission to read them.

High-ranking members of a guild can view Audit Logs which shows changes to a guild. Ranks 9 and 10 have permission to view the Audit Logs by default.
