Playing music will give others around you a buff depending on your skill at the instrument and how long you play that will boost combat xp, out-of-armor regeneration, as well as providing a chance at extra rewards while gardening.  The duration of the buff increases as you listen to the performance, increasing faster with more musicians, and caps at an 8 hour buff.
