Turning into a Lycanthrope is a PERMANENT CHARACTER ALTERATION. Even though this is Alpha, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE THIS CURSE. EVER.

There is currently no way to use the Lycanthrope and Druid skillsets as a combination. Items that enable druidism while in wolf form MAY come in a future content update.

Lycanthropy Overview

A Lycanthrope's Beast form makes for a very powerful animal form. You'll be able to change to and from it at will, with the following limitations:

  • You may become a wolf at any given moment, but your beast spirit will resist turning back to humanoid form until you've killed enough enemies (the higher your level, the less kills you'll require). Currently, level 53(Potentially lower) lycanthropes may turn to and from wolf form without having to shed any blood.
  • During the full moon, you will be forcefully turned into your beast form, and won't be able to turn back until it's all over. This happens once every lunar month, matching the RL moon cycles, for the three first days of it straight.
  • Remember that turning into a lycanthrope is a PERMANENT CHARACTER ALTERATION THAT CANNOT BE UNDONE and won't be made reversible either. This means you'll have access to the benefits the skillset has, the ability to shift between your normal and beast form at any moment out of the full moon... but will also be stuck with its downsides from there on. Because of this, it's highly advised to carefully consider the pros and cons before making the decision.

While you're in beast form, you will have the following abilities, among others:

  • The ability to combine different moves, dealing mainly crushing and slashing damage, with several side effects such as stuns, heavy armor damage, bleeding, and even a special "pack attack" that will deal increased damage for each werewolf attacking the same enemy.
  • With gear mods you can also gain good amount of trauma damage - especially form Sangune fangs skill. On top of that you can choose mods that passively boost ALL trauma damage you do when wolf skill lane is active, and even give every wolf attack chance to apply trauma DoT.
  • The ability to howl, eventually gaining a morale boost buff from it that will increase your out and in combat health regeneration, alongside small bonus to damage. The morale boost buff can stack up to one hour duration. Each werewolf that howls close by to each other, together boost both effects and max duration - +1h +2hp regen and +1 damage for each. So five werewolves howling in the same place can stack a buff up to 5 hours each. Repeatedly howling will also eventually get you experience on the Howling sub-skill.
  • The ability to feed on enemy corpses (currently, no limit to what you can eat, even tornadoes!), gaining a very nice regeneration buff from this, for a duration that will depend on your Beast Metabolism sub-skill (the more you feed on enemies, the higher this sub-skill will go).
  • During the four days before full moon, and the first three days of it (when you're already force-shape shifted), you'll receive the Lunacy buff, which increases your max health by +30. (Both in your humanoid and beast forms)
  • You will receive the option to perform several tasks for Norala, goddess of the hunt, during the full moon. These quests will earn you tokens, which you'll then be able to turn in in exchange for different boons (extra max hp/power, werewolf damage, damage mitigation, abilities...) that will last you until the days prior to the next full moon. See the Full Moon Section for more information.
  • Keep in mind that, once you become a werewolf, you'll be especially vulnerable to silver and wolfsbane, both in your humanoid and beast forms. Eating foods that contain wolfsbane, and being hurt by or simply holding a silver weapon on your hand, are sure to cause some serious damage and potentially kill you.

The Full Moon

  • During a real life full Moon You will be stuck as a werewolf. If you are in white wolf form before the full moon you still stay in this form which is preferable due to the form's cold weather mitigation.
  • If you try to change forms during the full moon you will be stuck as the default brown wolf
  • The full moon is an event. Make your way to Kur Mountains zone and enter the Wolf Cave at the Far north and center of the map. Directly Inside the cave is an altar. Completing the altar quests will earn tokens. These tokens disappear if not used during the current full moon. They unlock permanent buffs like 50-60 lycanthrope, 60-70 lycanthrope, and dark wolf form or unlock month long buffs like +%damage, +health, +armor and the coveted +12 run speed bonus buff.
  • It is advisable to unlock the dark wolf form last. The number of tokens is limited by the number of quests. Unlocking the level caps and werewolf abilities should be a priority since tokens are "time gated" by the full moon.

  • Harry the Wolf in Serbule Keep may know a thing or two about Werewolves. Hint
  • is contaminated spittle containing the Lycanthrope Disease. Drinking it will make you a werewolf instantly and forever! This is NO cure.

Lycanthropy Advanced Abilities

You may find two members of a werewolf pack around the northern coast in Kur mountains. They will tell you off if you try to talk to them, unless you're a werewolf yourself. Jace Soral will teach you several alchemical recipes for poisoned weapons effective against werewolves. Sanja, the pack leader, will teach you the following skills. Both will require favor to be learned:

Lycanthropy Mechanics

Altar of Norala

During the full moon, werewolves may now interact with an altar placed at the entrance of the werewolf den in Kur Mountains. They may use it to perform several tasks for the goddess of the hunt, Norala, which will earn them tokens they can then spend on special abilities, unlocks and boons. The tokens will only last for the duration of the full moon, and the bonuses unlocked will last until the next one, so the Lycans can get themselves nearly a month long boosts that will affect both their beast and humanoid forms. As of the 11/9/2015 update, 3 tokens of Norala can be spent during the full moon in order to increase werewolf form's level cap to 60 permanently. Several other abilities are also permanently unlocked in the same way after this.
